Smoking kills

China bans smoking in indoor spaces

”Tobacco brings 10th of country's tax earnings”

This sentence explains us why if tobacco is too bad for our health the politicians don’t ban it. Smoking gives to the country a lot of money, and not only in China. I am sure that in Spain, USA, UK, Germany and the rest of countries in the world earn a lot of money with tobacco, only with the taxes. It is a machine of money, people die about the tobacco but it gives money to the country.
Nowadays China has implemented a new law that ban people who want to smoke in indoor places, as what we made here in Spain time ago. This is a complicated topic because smokers are against this new law and no smokers are really happy with that. I as a no smoker I think that is complicated to go out the place for smoke, when you are drinking with your friends, or after the lunch, with your morning coffee, etc. But people who don’t smoke will appreciate this act. In China the problem is that half of men smoke, and it was typical smoke inside hospitals in the waiting room. They are worst than here...

But for example at the moment the law won’t penalize people to smoke in indoor places; they are introducing this law little by little. But if they don’t penalize, who will follow this law? Also we have to remember (as the notice explain) that smoking-related diseases killed 1.2 million Chinese people in 2005 and predicted that this number will rise up to 3.5 million in 2030.

What do you think about this smoking law without penalization? It will be success?
