FORD

Ford drives home biggest first-quarter profit in 13 years

Nowadays FORD Company is increasing their profits in a huge way. The company reported a net income of $2.6bn (£1.6bn), or 61 cents a share, compared with $2.09bn, or 50 cents a share, during the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose to $33.1bn, up from $28.1bn in 2010. These profits are because FORD is making new ‘greener’ cars, with the changing in recent laws about ecology; they are creating competitive and small cars that spend less petrol than other cars of other companies like Honda, Peugeot, Seat, Volkswagen , etc. Also the increase in the price of petrol is helping that consumers when they have to choose one car to buy, they decide which spends less petrol and also the cheaper. New cars here in Spain like for example Ford Fiesta or Ford Focus are having a nice position between young people elections.

FORD is increasing their sales not only in USA, also in Africa and Asia they are increasing profits but the amazing thing is that in Europe profits have increased more than the double, is a huge achievement for the company!

Allan Mullay the Ford President and chief executive is really happy with these results and also with the excellent work of their employees, with a solid growth and with improvements in all regions.
Finally these profits arrive in a perfect moment for the company to cut their big debt and help to pass this difficult crisis.

France begins ban on niqab and burqa

As many of you know since many years, Muslim women have been questioned about wearing veils. Not only in France, also in other European countries like Spain or the United Kingdom.

Most of the European people are against that the Muslims wear this kind of clothes, and also they aren’t agree of building mosques  in their cities because most of them are Christians and they don’t want to be “invaded” for their religion. This notice tells us that France is the first country in Europe to ban these veils; people can’t go for a walk in the street wearing a veil or they will have to pay a fine of 150€ more or less. Also police can ask for the identification of the person and can bring them to the police station if she doesn’t want to take off her veil.
On the other hand Muslim people are totally against this law, because they defend the idea that the street is a free place where everybody can dress what they want, without laws. Many Muslims are creating many protests and manifestations (like in Notre Dame Cathedral) to express they disagreement to everybody.

This week French police arrested around 60 people during many protests of this topic. Muslim people are really angry with this new law, because they say that it’s a religious act and this is totally freedom.

· What do you think about this new law? Are you agree or disagree?
· Do you think this new law can have bad impacts on French society and also in Europe?

Schwarzenegger returns

Arnold Schwarzenegger launches animated series "The Governator"

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a box full of surprises!

First of all, this person started his career as a bodybuilder and became the strongest man of the world. Later became an actor, making popular films like for example Terminator and finally they ends in policy. He was selected as the governor of California during eight years (2003-2011). And when everybody thought that Arnold was finished his life of show, cameras, TV and popularity, he launches an animated cartoon called “The Governator” based on his last stage of his successful life.

It was inevitable that Arnold returns to our TVs, after his years of politician they appear as the main character of a new cartoon series for kids on TV. The show is based in the hero Arnie (Arnold Schwarzenegger) doing his job of governor and also fighting the crime and natural disasters, all of this before he goes home to dinner every night. Arnold explain to the press that this cartoons contain the maximum level of possible action, but all for kids without blood, shoots or bad languages. He hopes that a lot of people will follow these cartoons from Africa to USA and Europe.

This man is a showman, I think that he has too much lazy time and he doesn’t know what to do, or where he has to spend his millions of dollars. What do you think about this guy?

Here you can see the trailer of the series:
